Blackfriars Underpass, London

City of London's Blackfriars Underpass (A3211) was having a new road surface and a new type Cat Eyes (LED reflectors).

The replacement work could only take place during night hours. On the first night a new record was acheived which was to core a total of 60 holes Ø 107 mm x 55 mm (4” dia x 2.1”) into asphalt in only 2 hours. This milestone was only achievable with the highly mobile Simplex core drill stand with a hydraulic minidrill motor.
